VISION:

The Saint John Baptist Church Quilting Ministry was established in 2007 to provide an additional opportunity for Christian service and fellowship.

MISSION:

Rooted in the historical role of the church as a center of life in the African-American community, the Quilting Ministry strives to enhance the spirit of community and the practice of giving.  The works of the ministry are guided by Christian tenets directing believers to:

• Serve-“Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous and willing to share.” (I Timothy 6:8)_
• Seek wisdom- “Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge.” (Proverbs 23:12)
• Teach- “She speaks wisdom; and, faithful instruction is on her tongue.” (Proverbs 31:26)

Members develop new skills, use time constructively, and share Christian knowledge and fellowship within the church and through community outreach as quilts with a message of spiritual encouragement are delivered.
